**TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE NEWS RELEASE**


The Timmins Police Service executed a number of arrest warrants stemming from a number of different incidents over the weekend resulting in bail hearings, most of which are slated for this morning (23 July) at Provincial Court in Timmins.

On Friday evening, the Timmins Police service took Patrick LAPORTE, 23 of Timmins into custody on the strength of a bench warrant for charges of Assault, Forcible Confinement, Theft Under $5000, Mischief Under $5000, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Fail to Attend Court.

The Timmins man had been arrested in another jurisdiction and currently awaits a bail hearing slated for Tuesday, July 24th

The Timmins Police Service also responded to an early morning disturbance at a bar in the downtown core of Timmins on Sunday July 22nd where it is alleged a female patron became disruptive and attempted to remove a bottle of liquor from behind the bar.

Responding Timmins Police officers determined that the patron’s behavior placed her in apparent breach of the conditions of her probation to keep the peace and be of good behavior.

As a result, Destiny IAHTAIL, 22, of Timmins was placed under arrest and remains in custody where she awaits her bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins.

The Timmins Police responded to an early morning dispute at an apartment on Commercial Avenue on Sunday July 22nd.

In the course of investigating the matter, one of the involved parties was identified and found to be the subject of an arrest warrant on weapons charges dating back to an incident in April of this year.

As a result, Joshua GRAVEL, 27, of Timmins was taken into custody where he awaits a bail hearing slated for this morning.

In a separate incident, while patrolling the downtown core during the noon hour of Sunday, July 22nd, a Timmins Police officer observed a person know to police as being wanted on the

strength of a bench warrant on charges of Break and Enter and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime stemming from an incident in June of 2017.

The subject was interviewed by the Timmins Police officer while the validity of the warrant was confirmed.

As a result, Luc PRONOVOST, 45, of Timmins, was taken into custody where he awaits a bail hearing slated for this morning.

The Timmins Police Service was called to the scene of a disturbance on Hemlock Street on Sunday July 22nd where they found a man in distress and causing a disturbance.

The responding officers determined that the man was bound by strict conditions imposed by the court requiring him to remain within the confines of his residence based on charges of Assault, Mischief, and Possession of Controlled Substance.

Based on the apparent breach of court imposed conditions, Ryan DREDHART, 33, of Timmins was taken into custody where he awaits a bail hearing slated for this morning.

In a separate incident, the Timmins Police Service was called to the scene of a disturbance a residential neighborhood in the north end of the city at approximately 10:00 p.m. on Sunday evening.

Once on the scene, they located a woman who had allegedly been disturbing the peace by yelling and screaming.

The Timmins Police determined that the woman was in fact wanted on the strength of a bench warrant for Fail To Attend Court stemming from Theft charges dating back to February of this year.

As a result, Brenda TURGEON, 26, of Timmins was arrested and taken into custody where she awaits her bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins.
